Granite is one of the hardest materials on earth; however, it is still possible to damage granite countertops. Fallowing simple care guidelines can help avoid most of the problems. Try to clean all spills asap, especially thous from red wine, oil, vinegar, ink, juices, tomato sauce. Use soft cloths and sponges for cleaning. Avoid abrasive materials such as steel wool and scrubbing pads. Use coasters, cutting boards and trivets to protect from staining and scratching. Don't use harsh or abrasive cleaners such as bleach, ammonia, tile and grout cleaners or scrubbing powders and creams. Do not stand or sit on top of granite countertops. Quartz countertops do not require to be sealed but remember to seal your granite countertops at least twice a year. It will keep them look amazing for a long, long time.
